Whirlpool and Frigidaire, offer quality french door and side-by-side refrigerators.
While both brands are similar in terms of storage capacity and features, we believe Whirlpool refrigerators are better to look at, and more importantly, are more reliable.
In 2020, Whirlpool has repeatedly topped the lists for the ‘most reliable refrigerator brand’, with only a reported 4.04% of Whirlpool appliances needing a service within the first year.
Whirlpool and Frigidaire are two of the top brands offering quality home appliances. Whirlpool is usually a more popular choice among buyers but in my experience Frigidaire offers a better value for the money. Frigidaire is owned by Electrolux.
In terms of refrigerators, I’ve examined the best-selling models from the two brands in the french door and side by side categories to see which one takes the lead.
Side by Side: Whirlpool WRS325SDHZ vs Frigidaire FFSS2615TS
The Whirlpool (25 cu. ft.) offers ample storage space and adjustable door bins but the main shelves are not adjustable. The Frigidaire (25.5 cu. ft.) offers adjustable shelves and a wide variety of compartments and bins both in the refrigerator and the freezer.
Both models are evenly matched in terms of features, both offering external ice and water dispensers with filtration system, bright interior lighting, and other features.
Both models are available in a variety of finishes but the Whirlpool offers a smudge-free stainless steel finish and hidden door hinges for a sleek look.
Both models are very reliable, with good reviews and customers recommending them. The negative comments are few and far between. The Frigidaire has some complaints about the doors not lining up perfectly, however.
The Frigidaire offers more storage and adjustability at a better value than the Whirlpool.
French Door: Whirlpool WRX735SDHZ vs Frigidaire FFHB2750TS
The Whirlpool (25 cu. ft.) offers good storage size and adjustable options, as well as a separate extendable drawer for extra organization. The Frigidaire (26.8 cu. ft.) has a larger capacity and more adjustable compartments despite the lack of an exterior drawer.
Both models are evenly matched in terms of features, both offering external ice and water dispensers, bright lighting, energy efficiency and smart controls. The Frigidaire offers even more energy efficiency with its Energy Saver Plus Technology.
Both models are available in a variety of finishes, but the Whirlpool offers a fingerprint-resistant stainless steel finish that makes it easy to keep clean and sleek-looking.
Both models are very reliable and highly-rated, but the Frigidaire takes the lead since most of the negative comments have to do with the delivery and not the appliance itself.
Both models are reliable premium options that offer really good storage capacity and features. However, Frigidaire offers a better value-for-money option.
