Looks

When considering the Cuisinart DFP-14BCWNY 14-Cup Food Processor’s aesthetics, you almost have to look at it in two parts.

The work bowl and all the removable parts are made from premium quality plastic, but they are a little bland in appearance. There’s no variation in color or nothing to break up the industrial style.

In contrast, the base is wonderfully contemporary and stylistic, featuring a stainless steel base-unit that comes in several different colors so you can match it to your kitchen’s décor. The processor has a sleek shape, and the operational buttons on the front are colored to match the rest of the device (dependent on which color Cuisinart DFP-14BCWNY 14-Cup Food Processor you choose).

As a whole, this food processor has a fantastic appearance, but with a little more thought, it could have had full marks in our ‘Looks’ category.

Score: 4.5/5

Capacity

Even though the Cuisinart DFP-14BCWNY Food Processor doesn’t have the biggest capacity work bowl on the market it, there aren’t many high-end processors that beat the substantial 14-cup capacity of this appliance.

Usually, larger kitchen appliances are only suitable for making larger portions and for big families. However, the DFP-14BCWNY performs just as well with small quantities as it does with more generous servings.

So, if you have the budget, it might be worth investing in this massive food processor, even if you might not need large portions all the time. Be prepared.

Features

  • Single Touch Control Paddles: The Cuisinart DFP-14BCWNY Food Processor has one of the most simple to use control systems we’ve ever seen. There are only two control paddles on the unit; ‘On,’ which turns the processor on until it is switched off, and the ‘Pulse/Off’ paddle, which will switch off the device if it’s on, or can pulse the ingredients with intermittent pressing.
  • Extra-Large Feed Tube: With an enormous feed tube, you’re able to place whole fruits and vegetables directly into the Cuisinart DFP-14BCWNY Food Processor without removing the lid or even turning the appliance off (though it might struggle with a big beefsteak tomato).
  • Interchangeable Blades: Three interchangeable blades allow you to chop, shred and slice, giving you the versatility to create the perfect texture ingredients dependent on your recipe.

Score: 3.5/5

Performance & Cleaning

As far as performance goes, the Cuisinart DFP-14BCWNY Food Processor is right up there with the best of them. The 720W motor can make mincemeat out of most ingredients. And it can actually make mincemeat.

The high-quality materials ensure each feature and function does precisely what it is supposed to, be it chop, shred, slice, puree, knee or emulsify, this appliance can handle it all.

Reliability and durability are no cause for concern either, with consumers reporting very few mechanical or longevity issues with the Cuisinart DFP-14BCWNY Food Processor.

The only downside to this food processor is when it comes to the cleanup. Yes, all removable parts are dishwasher safe, but if you don’t happen to have a dishwasher, the work bowl’s intricate interior is a magnet for pieces of food, and it’s a challenge to get them out by hand.

Score: 4/5

Should you buy the Cuisinart DFP-14BCWNY Food Processor?

Small kitchen appliances can be expensive if you’re looking for a high-quality device, and the Cuisinart DFP-14BCWNY Food Processor is one such unit. Moreover, it appears on the best food processor list. So, if you have the budget, then we highly recommend this superb appliance.

Despite its substantial capacity, this food processor is suitable for families of all sizes and performs almost any processing task to perfection. If we were hypercritical, this food processor would benefit from a dicing attachment and be a little easier to clean. Still, overall, you can’t go wrong with the Cuisinart DFP-14BCWNY Food Processor.

Looks

When considering each category for the Cuisinart Mini-Prep Plus 4-Cup Food Processor, it is worth remembering this appliance has a super low price point. It’s not a high-end device, which is apparent when looking at the Mini-Prep Plus aesthetics.

It’s not an ugly processor, but it does look cheap and a little bit flimsy. This device’s official color is “brushed steel,” but it does look more like “silver plastic” to us. The control panel looks relatively nice, while the Cuisinart logo stands out to improve the overall look slightly.

Score: 3/5

Capacity

The Mini-Prep Plus is called “Mini” for a reason; it’s aimed at single people or couples to pick up the slack with some smaller kitchen tasks, and as a result, has a small 4-cup work bowl.

Consumers will know that they’re buying a small appliance ahead of time (thanks to the name), but it is worth noting you’ll still need to chop some of your ingredients up beforehand to get the most out of this food processor.

Score: 2.5/5

Features

  • Simple Touch-Pad Control: This appliance has a straightforward control system that won’t confuse or confound you. The only downside is you’ll need to hold to button down to process the ingredients continuously.
  • Auto Reverse ‘Smart Blades’: There are two control options on the Cuisinart Mini-Prep Plus 4-Cup Food Processor, ‘Chop’ & ‘Grind.’ The blade system is double-edged, so the motor reverses depending on which function you want, eliminating the need to change blades.
  • Recipe Book & Spatula: This product’s affordability means the Cuisinart Mini-Prep Plus 4-Cup Food Processor is a little light on features. So, we’re counting the free recipe book to help you with ideas, and spatula to help get those pesky ingredients off the side of the bowl.

Score: 3/5

Performance & Cleaning

The Cuisinart Mini-Prep Plus 4-Cup Food Processor may only have a 250W motor, but it’s an absolute pocket rocket. Do not underestimate the processing power of this small appliance, or the ingredients you wanted to chop will end up pureed.

It is limited in what it can do, but again, it has a low price point and is specifically aimed at small kitchen tasks. The grind function is not as capable as the chop function, but it can still get the job done with perseverance.

One drawback is the sound. Because it’s a powerful little machine, it emits a high-pitched whine when in continuous use that can be a bit irritating.

Cleaning is an absolute cinch thanks to removable parts being dishwasher safe. Even cleaning by hand is easy, but be careful when cleaning the sharp blades.

Score: 4/5

Looks

The Cuisinart FP-8SV Elemental 8 Cup Food Processor is an attractive appliance that would suit most modern kitchens, though the base unit’s plastic does look a little cheap.

The plastic used for the work bowl is good quality and sparkles out of the box, while the color of the bowl’s handle matches the base unit, which is a nice contrast.

The buttons are rubberized, which gives the appliance a robust feel, and they’re fitted with blue LEDs that give off a comforting glow when in use.

The Cuisinart logo sits on the front of the base rounding off the look.

Score: 4/5

Capacity

The 8-cup capacity on the Cuisinart FP-8SV Elemental Food Processor is a decent size and can cope with tasks in the kitchen for averaged sized families, which is excellent for the mid-range price point.

It is essential to pay attention to the recommended fill levels on the side of the work bowl, however, or you’ll have issues with a non-uniform texture.

Score: 3.5/5

Features

Duel Speed: The Cuisinart FP-8SV Elemental Food Processor is the only appliance on our list with a duel speed. Equipped with ‘High’ and ‘Low’ settings, this processor is a little more versatile in that regard. It also has a ‘Pulse’ setting.

Interchangeable Blades: Equipped with a chopping blade and two discs that shred & slice both ‘Fine’ and ‘Medium’ pieces. The FP-8SV is a very versatile food processor.

Large Feeding Tube: While not quite as large as the feeding tube on the Cuisinart DFP-14BCWNY 14-Cup Food Processor, this device still has a decent-sized tube that can fit medium-sized vegetables in for slicing and shredding without having to turn off the appliance.

Score: 3.5/5

Performance & Cleaning

Slicing is where this processor excels. It’s also a very capable chopper and shredder, but it can produce perfectly uniform slices of fruits and vegetables in less than a second.

Overall, build quality is pretty good; however, one slight design flaw is the chopping blades’ width. They are ever so slightly too long and catch/scratch the work bowl’s side when fitting them to the base.

It can be a little loud for some consumers too.

Cleaning is super easy thanks to dishwasher safe parts and rubberized buttons that wipe clean in seconds.

Score: 4/5

Should you buy the Cuisinart FP-8SV Elemental 8 Cup Food Processor?

The Cuisinart FP-8SV Elemental Food Processor is a superb food processor that is more affordable to those on a tighter budget.

Yes, it has a smaller capacity than the Cuisinart DFP-14BCWNY 14-Cup Food Processor, but at a fraction of the cost, it is just as capable at slicing, shredding, and chopping.
