Grapefruit mojitos
I’d like to have a mojito every now and then. Therefore, I decided to go with this classic. The only thing that’s different from a normal mojito is the grapefruit. Perfect for this time of year since citrus fruit is still in season. The gorgeous color of these pink grapefruits stole my heart and they give this drink a nice tangy flavor as well.
Also, mojitos are one of the easiest cocktails to make, I think. I decided to leave out all the muddled ingredients in the end, as I like to sip my drink without having mint and slices of citrus in my mouth, but you could of course leave them in the glass if you want to.
(serves 2)
You need:
- 1 1/2 grapefruit, juice
- 1 grapefruit, cut in slices
- 1 lime, juice
- 1/4 lime
- 10 mint leaves
- 125 ml rum
- sparkling water
- 1 1/2 tbsp unrefined cane sugar
How to make it:
- In a glass, place the slices of grapefruit and the quarter of lime. Add the sugar and mint.
- Muddle until all of it is crushed. Don’t overdo it.
- Add the fresh juice and rum. Stir until the sugar is dissolved.
- Sieve into two clean glasses filled with crushed ice and top with sparkling water. You can also serve with the citrus parts and mint. Cheers!
